Oh Harry. Advice about blacks and the solution to the problems caused by them from Bill O’Reilly? Personal bias or prejudice aside, what do you think qualifies him to make that call? Many seem to ignore the fact that blacks were shut out of the many things that would have equipped them with the tools to improve their lives as recently as the 60s & 70s. When you were at Harvard earning your MBA most blacks were struggling to get minimum-wage jobs for themselves and a decent K through 12 education for their children in their neighborhoods. Go to the worst schools anywhere in America today: do you think it is a coincidence that almost all of them are located in black and Hispanic neighborhoods? Do you think now that we have a black man as the POTUS, it is an indication that every black person has been given the opportunity to obtain the tools to live the American dream? Do you think that the overwhelming majority of the prison population is black because blacks commit the overwhelming majority of crimes?
You don’t shut out an entire segment of the population from the ability to obtain the basic tools to succeed in life (like education, jobs, and equal justice) for generations and expect all that to be wiped out in just 3 or 4 decades. Look at it this way: if you went to the worst schools in Australia, would you have been able to get into Harvard Business School? This may be a bit extreme but would your parents have succeeded in Hitler’s world? The point I am trying to make is that just because the slaves were freed and we have equal rights laws in place, it does not automatically erase the damage done in the past. It takes focus on going back to the basics: equal access to education and opportunities. Trust me: productive people do not have the time to commit crimes.

IN the video, BillO promoted the canard that the cop was beat up and had a suborbital cranial fracture– of course, he qualified it in the video that it *may* not be true but only evidence that the whole truth isn’t out yet. That’s BS. The cop was not significantly injured and the tiniest amount of journalistic curiosity would have elicited the truth. BillO is only interested in divisiveness for no reason but his own ego.

Bill O’really is full of crap. The cause of violent crime and blacks hating police is the drug war. I remember back in the mid 70’s before the war on drugs got started I think the murder rate was a lot lower and it wasn’t a scary thing to be in a black neighborhood. How are black kids suppose to feel when they see their fathers being dragged off to jail?

Born in 1960 an lived through the entire horrible nightmare of watching my family essentially lose two beautiful 4 family houses to the liberal war on poverty. As more blacks moved in real estate prices plummeted, you want to talk about white flight. Crime everywhere, garbage, spray paint, you name it. You liberals absolutely destroyed a beautiful city. I saw it happen so don’t try and bullshit me. Blacks have no respect for anybody or anything, total animals. BillO exhibits the conservative id quite well. Nobody can argue that black illegitimacy rates and crime rates are too high, but he offers no substantive solution, just angst. The fact also remains that both black teen pregnancy rates and black violent crime rates are in a steady decline, which is even more significant given the stultifying recession which usually triggers more crime. Why doesn’t BillO mention that?
Even more annoying is that BillO lays all the ills at the feet of rogues like Sharpton and Jackson who are not elected officials and are no more than self-appointed demagogues. Do we blame all the social ills of poor whites on Ted Nugent and Rush Limbaugh?
The most annoying thing about BillO is when he casts blame on the black president for not keeping “his people” in line. Did George W. Bush ever put out a public service announcement telling black kids not to screw around? Or was GWB only the white peoples’ president? Where was BillO’s criticism then? Do white politicians ever put out public service announcements to tell white parents to lock up their guns?
The way to reduce black illegitimacy rates is to make effective birth control more available. An ounce of prevention…and that is exactly what is happening with the PPACA and expansion of Medicaid (for states that are not insane enough to eschew the funding.) Blaming Hollywood while cutting funds for family planning is nuts.

If O’Reilly is whole family poster child I’ll pass and take single mom “failures” like Obama and Clinton.
That he is absolutely right makes no difference to a liberal, right? How do you argue with the crime stats? Obama IS a failure at every level, Clinton perhaps not a failed president but certainly to this day, a total moral failure. Both are irrelevant to OReily’s point: black kids without dads are an army of bombs waiting to go off.
Even worse, our well meaning effect 40 years ago to help single mothers, greatly increased the number of them and contributed to the disintegration of families, particularly hard hitting in black communities. No fathers now over 3-4 generations and the results are terrible. And O’Reilly is wrong: the percent of children born and raised without fathers in black communities is 78% and probably still growing. Not honestly addressing the issue is the issue. And implementing corrective solutions will not be easy, but starts with LEADERSHIP, particularly black leadership.
Harry….you need to go to Rushlimbaugh.com, pay for the subscription and begin listening by accessing the recent archive. This is the best gift you could ever give yourself. If you think that Bill O’Reilly is making good points then go all the way and listen to how absolutely brilliant Limbaugh actually is.

Of course, POTUS has already been identified as “pal-ing around with terrorists” by another pillar of our culture. And while I’m at it, let’s not forget that the Palestinian people are bringing their own destruction of life and family upon themselves, mostly, like African-Americans, just by existing and being “uppity” by demanding equal human rights.
