I haven’t driven a Tesla. But apparently everyone who has, has fallen in love with it. And you can’t shut them up.<\/p>\n My friend, David Epstein, is a car buff.<\/p>\n “I drove a Tesla this morning.\u00a0 You and Susan should go drive one, in a word the car was phenomenal.”<\/p>\n David, please give me the five features you really liked about the car?<\/p>\n 1 – Pure power, instant torque, never felt acceleration like it with handling to match – never driven a vehicle like it, and I am a “car” guy.<\/p>\n 2 – Simplicity of design – in the Tesla shop they show you the bare chassis of the car. There are very few moving parts, no pumps to wear out, no belts to stretch.<\/p>\n 3 – Safety that looks like it may be second to none – the car was off the charts in crash testing, looking at the bare chassis you can see why.<\/p>\n 4 – Very nice interior tech — finally a car that is running a current generation processor, not some 486 from 1998 in the dash.<\/p>\n 5 – $4 “fill up” vs $80 in my Audi and maintenance that will consist of tires and alignments and that is about it.<\/p>\n \u00a0This is our new $100 bill.<\/strong><\/span> The real one doesn’t have the word “specimen” all over it. I got one yesterday and tried to scan it last night on my Epson printer. It came back with an error message saying I wasn’t allowed to scan currency. I have no idea how it knew about my new career. I had to go on the Internet and find an approved image. Mine would have been better. The Epson does a great job.\u00a0 That blue vertical bar seems to be some holographic plastic insert.<\/p>\n Neat project. <\/strong>From the latest issue of Popular Mechanics. Once it was a phone, then a music machine, then a GPS navigator, then an Internet surfer… now the iPhone is a full-fledged scanner. I have bought a little Apple, once again.
