Stock prices are charging ahead — especially all the hot issues, like Solarcity (SCTY), First Solar (FSLR) and Netflix (NFLX).<\/p>\n

The list of new highs — 262 of them to be precise — is quite staggering. Check out this chart on U.S. Exchanges 52 week highs — click here.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

It contains names like Alcoa, Adobe, Alaska Air, Amgen, Boeing, Brunswick Corp, Corelogic, Comcast, Chipolte, Costco, Danaher, FedEx, Halliburton, MasterCard, Raytheon, United Parcel, VF Corp, and even U.S. Steel.<\/p>\n

This list is a good place to troll for new ideas.\u00a0 More on this tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Hoisted on my own petard. <\/strong>Buy clocks that reset themselves when the time changes. Never have to climb a ladder. Bad logic:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1. The clocks need their batteries replaced — usually every time the time changes.<\/p>\n

2. They never bloody well work. (That’s Australian for acute frustration.) Exhibit A:<\/p>\n

I photographed these two identical clocks this morning. These two\u00a0 clocks are meant to set themselves to the correct time through a conversation with a Federal government, magical wireless signal.<\/p>\n

Hint: the one on the left is right.<\/p>\n

Don’t ever think about buying one of these handsome, pricey ($60) clocks. Their only benefit is they’re large — 20″ diameter. Perfect size for indoor tennis courts. If only they’d work…Sigh.<\/p>\n
