I use a laptop — a ThinkPad X230 — and an iPhone 5.\u00a0 My main criterion is the keyboard. Laptops tend to have the best. But my friend Frank Derfler loves his Chromebook which has one big plus: It’s much cheaper than a laptop. He says it’s basically a Wi-Fi device. Without Wi-Fi, it’s not especially useful. Forbes valued the team at $575 million before the sale to Steve Ballmer (of Microsoft fame) for $2 billion. That’s a compounded return of 14.2% — ignoring any dividends along the way. Which probably didn’t happen. Most sports teams are not profitable. Owning a sports team is at the top of the list for “big boys toys”, so the saying goes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Better that Ballmer messes up the Clippers than Microsoft. Meantime, my friends at Microsoft tell me they’re not feeling the new guy’s presence. Sadly, he’s not an entrepreneur.
