Traveled last night on JetBlue to Palm Springs, California. Free Internet. Fast enough to watch streaming video — a first for me on a plane. I watched The White Queen. It was free because I’m Amazon Prime, which I is the greatest bargain around.<\/p>\n

Harry’s latest investment strategy:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

First, here’s five years in the market:<\/p>\n

Now look at the chart and recognize that the U.S. economy grew at 2.4% in 2015 and 2014, but only 1.5% in 2013.<\/p>\n

There’s no correlation between how well the economy does and how well the market does. Which is probably the reason economists are lousy investors.<\/p>\n

What I don’t like at present:<\/p>\n

+ Banks<\/p>\n

+ Biotech<\/p>\n

+ Oil, energy and commodities<\/p>\n

+ Miners<\/p>\n

What I like at present:<\/p>\n

+ Residential real estate for the middle class — $900 to $1400 a month rent, in fast-growing areas.<\/p>\n

+ BSV and SGOL as hedges.<\/p>\n

+ T and VZ for dividends.<\/p>\n

+ Sell covered call options.<\/p>\n

+ HD, NKE, GOOGL, FB, HA and ALK for growth.<\/p>\n

+ Lenovo X230 ThinkPad and Windows 7 for ultra reliability.<\/p>\n

+ Tennis, biking and eating less for longevity.<\/p>\n

+ Grandkids for amazement. The daily change is amazing. Thank you Apple for PhotoStream and FaceTime — the two major reasons everyone should have an iPhone.<\/p>\n
