I don’t feel comfortable being heavily invested. I can see another 10% to 20% down.<\/p>\n

I do feel comfortable with cash, staying home, reading, writing, playing tennis and walking the dog.<\/p>\n

Though my cash is earning nothing, it’s holding its value. Inflation is basically non-existent. Our American dollar is holding strongly against most others, including the Australian dollar which has cratered from over 70 to under 60 cents.<\/p>\n

There is hope. I read:<\/p>\n

Terrifying though the coronavirus may be, it can be turned back. China, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan have demonstrated that, with furious efforts, the contagion can be brought to heel.<\/p>\n

Whether they can keep it suppressed remains to be seen. But for the United States to repeat their successes will take extraordinary levels of coordination and money from the country’s leaders, and extraordinary levels of trust and cooperation from citizens.<\/p>\n

Will Washington step up and get us the needed medical equipment to protect our health care workers? That’s the key to conquering the virus.<\/p>\n

I could get industry to make the needed stuff.\u00a0 You could do it. But a president who hasn’t taken the coronavirus seriously, contradicts his health experts and wants to get us back to work in a fantastical 15 days….!<\/p>\n

Advice for all of us while Washington fiddles: Hunker down, don’t go out, wash your hands, stay 10 feet away from people..<\/p>\n

Sadly, the virus has closed in. All of us now personally know friends and relatives who have it. And some of them are very very sick.<\/p>\n

Should I be buying stocks?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Mark Cuban, “When you don’t know what to do, do nothing<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

Todd Kingsley’s great axiom, “When in doubt, stay out.<\/em>“<\/p>\n

Hedge fund maven, David Tepper is optimistic for an early recovery — so long as we get the needed medical equipment — masks, ventilators, etc. — produced quickly. He is nibbling. But he insists we need the equipment. His interview with CNBC is here.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The stock market has now lost more than a third. It’s lower than when Trump took office in late January 2017.<\/p>\n

Hence, stocks are “cheap.” And nibbling is the rage.<\/p>\n

The Bank of America has picked some Work-From-Home<\/em> stocks, including Zoom Video which has been one my best picks. Today it’s dropped 12% on fears that its growth may be slowing. Which is not what I’m hearing. Who can predict stock prices, when you hear that demand is up 12 times, but the stock is down today 11%.\u00a0 I’m not enthusiastic for BoA’s picks.<\/p>\n
