The present uncertainty? Will they pay their May rents?<\/p>\n

The duration? Will they still be tenants in May, 2021? Or 2022?<\/p>\n

Will we have enough money to keep afloat this month? Next year?<\/p>\n

Will our new strategies work?<\/p>\n

\u00a0 + Work at home. My friends with kids tell me it’s half as “productive” as being in the office.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 + On-line. Have we sufficient email addresses of our customers to offer them a deal — if they buy something from us — NOW.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 + Can we think of new products to sell? Thermal cameras are flying off the shelf. I’m buying pajamas and polos. They’re my go-to work “attire.”\u00a0 Why aren’t they called “executive pajamas?” LandsEnd has run out of flannel pajamas. How could they?<\/p>\n

\u00a0 + Can we bump up our TV advertising of stuff people can use at home? Better pillows?<\/p>\n

Time to check our portfolios again. I’m hoping you’ve taken my advice and stayed away from energy and oil.<\/p>\n

Don’t try to catch falling knives, like airlines and cruise lines. (But see below.)<\/p>\n

If you believe the markets will take another plunge soon, go short. And hold your nose.<\/p>\n

Be very wary of municipal bonds. Cities and states get a lot of revenue from sales tax, mortgages and other fees that depend on a healthy vibrant economy. Which\u00a0 it’s not. Nearly one quarter of the economy is idle. 30 million businesses are shuttered. Way over 22 million have lost their jobs. States and cities don’t have the luxury afforded the federal government — the ability to print money.<\/p>\n

I don’t have any doubts about us getting through this, with intelligence.<\/p>\n

I fear opening up the economy will be cause for celebration, not caution.<\/p>\n

It’s hard to fight an unseen enemy. It’s hard to maintain the discipline to fight it. We hunger for the camaraderie of people.<\/p>\n

I worry about the Administration’s inability to deal with this virus — obsessed as Trump is with his ego and being re-elected.<\/p>\n

I worry about the Administration’s continuing insane decisions — flat out stopping immigration (I’m one) and encouraging the morons demonstrating against state lockdowns. (Many of them will get sick from their presence at the demonstrations — just as they did because they were denied mail-in ballots and had to line up to place a vote.<\/p>\n

I worry about a second major downturn in the stock market. Today has suddenly gone awry.<\/p>\n

Yesterday I listened to a brilliant webcast by Michael Cembalest of JPMorgan Chase. He forecast that it will take three to four years for corporate finances to fully recover. That’s a long time to live in hard times. I’ll see if I can find a link to the presentation. He’s brilliant.<\/p>\n

I keep my eye on our family’s health. So far, so good.<\/p>\n

Health should be your focus too. And having enough cash to survive before things get back to normal. Whatever that is.<\/p>\n

Robinhood released its top ten stocks<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

They were bought by its clients in March.<\/p>\n

These were\u00a0Inovio (NASDAQ:INO<\/a>), Ford (NYSE:F<\/a>), American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL<\/a>), Boeing (NYSE:BA<\/a>), Carnival Cruise (NYSE:CCL<\/a>), General Electric (NYSE:GE<\/a>), Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT<\/a>), Disney (NYSE:DIS<\/a>), Aurora Cannabis (NYSE:ACB<\/a>) and Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Not all my cup of tea. I do own a little Microsoft and Tesla. But that’s it. You got to have a long, long horizon to buy Carnival Cruise and American. But I hear that bookings on cruises next year are way up. We substitute cabin fever of one kind for cabin fever of another. (That’s really sick.)<\/p>\n
