Meanwhile, Summit County, Colorado, has beaten Putin to incredible extravagance."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Yesterday I waxed enthusiastic about Nvidia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Today it&#8217;s up 6%. I am a genius, except I don&#8217;t own enough NVDA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Yesterday I told everyone to watch this video. Please do. I know it&#8217;s long.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I&#8217;ve been in technology since 1969. This is the best presentation I have ever seen. This man&#8217;s company has increased computing power by a million times in the last 10 years. He promises to do better in the next ten years. He&#8217;s revolutionizing\/improving every industry and every company you own shares in, or work for. Please watch the video.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"690\" height=\"388\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/39ubNuxnrK8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Amazon is my second bargain<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Here&#8217;s an excerpt from a really good review of Amazon on Seeking Alpha today:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;\">Amazon is poised to grow over the coming years and we believe that margin will significantly improve as well due to a business-mix shift and lower investments. We believe that revenue can grow north of 10% per year over the coming years and EBIT margin could reach &gt;10% on a normalized basis (maybe a mid-teen operating margin).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;\">Our quick analysis of operating margin suggests that margin on a normalized basis will significantly improve over the coming years. Owning oodles of Apple is a no-brainer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Russia<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Average annual income in Russia last year was $6,000. That&#8217;s in U.S. dollars. It&#8217;s much less now because of the sanctions and the collapse of the ruble.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Madeline Albright was our first woman Secretary of State.\u00a0She was awesome. She immigrated with her family to the United States in 1948 from\u00a0Czechoslovakia. Her father, Josef Korbel, settled the family in\u00a0Denver, Colorado, and she became a U.S. citizen in 1957. She just died.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In her last essay for the New York Times, she wrote:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;\">In the 20-odd years since we met, Mr. Putin has charted his course by ditching democratic development for Stalin&#8217;s playbook. He has collected political and economic power for himself &#8212; co-opting or crushing potential competition &#8212; while pushing to re-establish a sphere of Russian dominance through parts of the former Soviet Union. Like other authoritarians, he equates his own well-being with that of the nation and opposition with treason. He is sure that Americans mirror both his cynicism and his lust for power and that in a world where everyone lies, he is under no obligation to tell the truth. Because he believes that the United States dominates its own region by force, he thinks Russia has the same right.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;\">Mr. Putin has for years sought to burnish his country&#8217;s international reputation, expand Russia&#8217;s military and economic might, weaken NATO and divide Europe (while driving a wedge between it and the United States). Ukraine features in all of that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;\">Instead of paving Russia&#8217;s path to greatness, invading Ukraine would ensure Mr. Putin&#8217;s infamy by leaving his country diplomatically isolated, economically crippled and strategically vulnerable in the face of a stronger, more united Western alliance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For her full February 23, 2022 essay titled <em>Putin Is Making a Historic Mistake,<\/em> click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/02\/23\/opinion\/putin-ukraine.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>here.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"css-1vkm6nb ehdk2mb0\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>How rich is Putin?<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"css-1vkm6nb ehdk2mb0\" style=\"text-align: left;\">He is reputed to be the world&#8217;s richest person, worth well over $200 billion.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"css-1vkm6nb ehdk2mb0\" style=\"text-align: left;\">This is Putin&#8217;s private yacht,. It&#8217;s called the\u00a0Scheherazade and is worth $500 million to $700 million. It will sell the prime real estate (government buildings, etc.) to oligarchs and sundry crooks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p>If it loses, or if the war drags on and on, the Kremlin won&#8217;t be able to sell savings bonds, or ramp up more oil and gas sales. It will have to print money. Something comes onto the market and is snapped up within days.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">There are three types of retail stores in downtown Breckenridge: tourist stores that sell &#8220;Breck at 9,600 feet&#8221; sweatshirts, food stores (hot chocolate costs $7.50 a cup) and zillions of real estate brokers with nothing to sell.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Many of the insides of the more pricier homes &#8212; in the $16 to $19 million range &#8212; exceed even Putin&#8217;s tastes. The big home routinely have indoor swimming pools, home theaters, multiple kitchens, hot tubs, saunas, zillions of bathrooms and gigantic chandeliers of elk, moose and deer.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">In their quest for something unique, this house definitely won:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-57728\" src=\"https:\/\/www.technologyinvestor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/rock-climbing.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"349\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">For the kids, a rock climbing wall that&#8217;s part of the house.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Tomorrow, maybe, I&#8217;ll show you some of the interiors of your &#8220;typical&#8221; $20 million Summit County, Colorado house.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">And then I&#8217;ll tell you about the $4.3 million two-tennis indoor court structure in Breckenridge.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">For now, today is my 46th wedding anniversary.
