Nvidia beat on revenue and earnings, and announced a $60 billion stock buyback.<\/p>\n

Nvidia is the best AI play.<\/p>\n

Sadly, it’s not going to do this again in future.<\/p>\n

For that we got to keep looking.<\/p>\n

More Travel Tips<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

+ WhatsApp<\/strong> is the only way to make calls overseas, and to and from the U.S. The conversation quality is fantastic. And the call is free. What’s there not to like? Download the app from the AppStore.<\/p>\n

+ T-Mobile\/Mint Mobile<\/strong> is the best cell network, for here and overseas. Also among the cheapest.<\/p>\n

+ Napping, sunlight and a little walking get rid of jet lag.<\/strong> Don’t take drugs, like melatonin. Waste of money.<\/p>\n

+ Instagram<\/strong> is an iPhone pleasure — once you have it programmed to feed you tennis, African mammals, stupid funny mistakes, tips on fixing things, etc. It has discovered I love buying shoes and it feeds me endless new models — many of which I buy … and then return.<\/p>\n

+ Croissants and bread at breakfast are super yummy at European hotels.<\/p>\n

+ Note to Self Mail<\/strong> is great for taking notes on your iPhone — typing or talking.<\/p>\n

+ Newer iPhones<\/strong> have better cameras. An iPhone 17 will be announced on September 9. I’m sure I’ll get one. I get better iPhone photos when I use the 2x<\/strong> magnification.<\/p>\n

+ Delta<\/strong> offers one-way, round trip and multi-city. The multi-city choice can save you a bundle.<\/p>\n

+ Sleep masks are great. I can actually sleep. Combine them with the Bose noise cancelling ear buds which I mentioned yesterday. I turn them on to get rid of the plane’s engine noise, but don’t plug them into anything.<\/p>\n

You can buy a sleep mask without the silly words, but equally comfortable here.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

+ Socks are more important than which shoes you use for travel. The thicker the socks, the better. I use Thorlos. They’re tennis socks. They ain’t cheap. But they’re the best. Skechers<\/strong> are the best shoes for the money. But any of the high end ones -will work –\u00a0Salomon, Brooks, Hoka, New Balance, Nike, Mephisto, L.L.Bean and Roger Federer’s On shoes, which we all love.<\/p>\n

+ Crossing roads anywhere — Look both ways twice.<\/strong> This applies to driving. Watch out for motorized bicycles, especially in New York City.<\/p>\n

+ Turo<\/strong> has better car rental deals than you’ll get at the airport. Think of them as Airbnb for anything on four wheels.<\/p>\n

+ Many hotels don’t have spas, pools and gyms. I like pools. Michael likes gyms. Check.<\/p>\n

Health and hospital stuff<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

New Covid vaccine shots from Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax are now approved<\/a> for use among higher risk Americans, i.e. old farts. Personally, I think all of us should get this shot which has been upgraded for the latest nasties.<\/p>\n

If you are going to hospital (some of my friends are), here are my four best tips:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Wear a sleep mask (airline style) because they leave the lights on.<\/li>\n
  2. Wear a Covid respiratory mask around the hospital \u2013 especially when you\u2019re near other patients \u2013 all of whom are sick. Covid, RSV and flu are horrid respiratory diseases and can be prevented with masks.<\/li>\n
  3. Hospitals will make your bed jiggle during the night to keep your legs from developing blood clots. Unplug your bed, or you won’t get any sleep.<\/li>\n
  4. Check out of the hospital as fast as you can. The place is full of sick people who are happy to share their drek with you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Guess where the pilfered iPhone from my friend’s car in New York City has ended up?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    The U.S. Tennis Open is on ESPN and YouTubeTV<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    These are the early rounds and, hence, not especially exciting.<\/p>\n

    I’m back to playing tennis every day. It’s good to be alive.<\/p>\n
