Today is the quarter’s last day. That means “window dressing.” Buy some favorite stocks for a quick trade because the market will probably be up on April 1, because it’s up 70% of the time the first day of the month.<\/p>\n

Two interesting China plays:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yanzhou is\u00a0 China’s coal company. Earnings are growing strongly.<\/p>\n

Harbin\u00a0 makes small electric motors. Huge short interest — 24% of float. Squirrely recent earnings. But call option prices are very high. Somebody thinks something positive — a takeover?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Apple’s advance\u00a0 has stalled, for now.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Several “news” stories have checked its growth — problems with Japan demand, supply chain shortages and delays on the release of the iPhone 5.
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There are lots of good things: the rapid sellout of the upcoming developer program, the huge ongoing sales of the iPad2 and Apple computers, especially the Macbook Air.
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This is not the time to sell Apple, since it could “pop” at any time. Buy some more, if, by chance, it falls to, say $335.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.<\/span> <\/strong>David Sokol , once a candidate to succeed Warren Buffett as the head of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., resigned as it was disclosed he helped negotiate a takeover while buying stock in the target company. According to the Wall Street Journal:<\/p>\n

Mr. Sokol had purchased roughly $10 million in shares of a chemicals company that Berkshire recently agreed to buy at the suggestion of Mr. Sokol, Lubrizol Corp.<\/p>\n

Mr. Buffett said Mr. Sokol, 54 years old, had bought 96,060 shares in January, before Berkshire reached a $9 billion deal to acquire the company. Berkshire’s purchase price of $135 per share meant that Mr. Sokol’s stake rose $3 million in value.<\/p>\n

<\/span>The United Nations has set a very dangerous precedent with its adventure in Libya. And it is likely to spill over throughout the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Today, the biggest emerging story is not in Libya at all, but in Syria, where the demonstrations are growing rapidly in both size and violence. The climate is right for a much more dangerous conflict than we have seen so far.<\/p>\n

Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) has already stated that the Libyan precedent has laid the groundwork for American intervention in Syria. And Hamas has already asked for UN intervention in Israel, based on Resolution 1973 which called for the coalition `no-fly zone’ in Libya.<\/p>\n

The Blind Pilot<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A blind man was flying in a small plane with his brother, the pilot, when his brother suddenly clutched his chest and died.<\/p>\n

After finally finding the radio, the blind man called for help and was answered by an air traffic controller at a nearby airport.<\/p>\n
