My biggest performers today are Apple, AVXL, UNH, and GNRC, Google, and MRNA. I don’t profess brilliance, just luck.
The Supreme Court has upheld Obamacare. Which must be good for UNH.
I have several ETFs — VGT (Vanguard technology), XLE (energy) and JETS (airlines). I don’t like ETFs generally, but they do a job of covering a sector you feel positive about.
The big news is creating products that were traditionally made of wood, but now is made of material that lasts forever. To wit:
+ Everyone is building decks. The best deck material is from Trex. Their stuff is indestructible.

Their stock is doing just fine. Here’s one year.

The stock is way overpriced, but benefitting from the housing improvement boom.
+ Azek makes an array of outdoor furniture and stuff.

Amazon is running Prime Day.
The best deal is Apple’s new, second generation AirPods for $119.

Another reason to buy a Tesla
I’m walking along when I spy an imprisoned dog.

It’s called The Tesla Doggie Mode. The car stays warm or cold for your dog.
Tesla also has a new Sentry Mode. Using the many cameras around the car, your Tesla can display a warning message on the infotainment display (that big screen), blast the car’s stereo system, alert the owner via the Tesla smartphone app, or activate the car’s alarm. You’ll get an alert on your phone. And, of course, the entire event will be recorded. Not a good idea to steal a Tesla.

Hacking’s latest
+ Cybercrime losses for the year 2020 are estimated at nearly one trillion dollars – almost double the loss incurred just two years before. — Cy Vance. Click here.
+ The vast majority of ransomware attacks taking over American towns, cities and hospitals were made possible because the targets failed to turn on multifactor authentication, cybersecurity experts and officials said. Hackers exploited the lack of multifactor authentication to force the shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline in May and in an attempt to poison the water supply in a small Florida town in February 2020, officials have said. I’ve turned on Two-Factor Authentication on all my bank accounts and on all my online brokerage accounts. You can and should, too. Vanguard. Fidelity. JPMorgan, etc.
Typically, I log on. It sends me a text to my cell phone, which I enter. Then I’m in.
It’s a critical, though easy, safeguard.
How to fix your Apple Watch
When I first got it, my apps looked a jumble, viz the picture on the left.

You can change it to a list you can scroll through and set alarms, etc.
Force Touch (firm or hard press) on the Apple Watch screen. This will bring up the menu to choose between Grid View or List View. Select List View. Now your apps are shown as an alphabetical list.
Weekend reading
In a book review,

the New York Times writes that:
“Zero Fail,” a history of the agency by the Washington Post reporter Carol Leonnig, is a devastating catalog of jaw-dropping incompetence, ham-fisted mismanagement and frat-boy bacchanalia.
Wonderful words. For the full review, click here.

Hearing aids
I’ve got a whole “test drive” going on with several cheap hearing aids I bought from Amazon. Not exciting.
See you tomorrow — Harry Newton.
