Friday, Malaga Spain and late.

Malaga, southern Spain. Just landed on a new airline called Helitt.

In all the mess (and there’s plenty of it), Spanish entrepreneurs are starting new businesses, looking to better times.

But more about all that on Monday. Meantime, the weather is gorgeous and the Spanish people even more so.

Rosh Hashanah begins on Sunday night, not when I said.

Harry Newton who wonders why  he’s so lucky. Thank you Mr. Bernanke for the boomlet.

You may want to post daily charts of AGNC and MGTE for the past 12 months.
The total return on each was over 50%.

I find Kunstler to be one of the more astute observers of the train wreck happening while Bernanke is happily putting more coal in the burner.

Harry, how's your shorting philosophy working now after Bernanke's comments? You do realize you're on the wrong side of this thing now with all your long lists of shorts. Surely you're willing to admit now – finally – that you were wrong and I was right. I urged you and your readers not to short, and posted on here that Bernanke would do something radical to get Obama reelected. I'm very happy that I was long and heavily invested.

Wait there. I've never said to be 100% short. I've said there are stocks that deserve being shorted because they're not dong well, are in the wrong business, their time has passed. Any number of reasons. RadioShack has been a great short. But I've never said be 100% short in your portfolio, since there are companies whose stock is clearly going up, like AAPL and AGNC, both of which I've recommended for eons.

    Harry, you are funny.
A flight when you could have economically and conveniently taken the AVE train ? A smooth 170 mph and see the Olive-groved varied Spanish landscape ? Purchase a Tarjeta Dorada card for 5 euros and save 40%. My recent 17 days in Spain revealed no obvious social-economic uneasiness though I was not in the “back-streets” or “suburbs”. People of Spain live with style and pride, no litter country wide. Malaga, home of Picasso. His best museum is in Barcelona, you must purchase tickets in advance by some means while you are in town; unlike Italy, Spain is difficult to buy advanced tickets for transportation and museums, otherwise you will face unacceptable lines of 1/8 of a mile. You are in bus territory now, “double-check ” with the clerks and bus drivers for the correct bus. Go to Ronda for a day or two if you have the chance, 1 1/2 hours NE over incredible Andalucian mountian views. A plateau with a 350 feet sheer wall above the hillier the Tuscany country side. See pain's first bull-fighting ring. Stay at the Catalonia Reina Victoria Spa for a memorable experience. Cheers and looking forward to hearing more from you on Monday.

Noted on all the above. We've actually rented a villa in Andalucia on a mountainside near Ronda. It's gorgeous. You're right. We'll be going back to Madrid on the train. Everything you say about Spain confirms my impressions. They do live with great style.
