Somehow today’s blog doesn’t have the same timbre as Warren Buffett’s Annual Report to Shareholders, but as the Great Man himself said:
You do things when the opportunities come along. I’ve had periods in my
life when I’ve had a bundle of ideas come along, and I’ve had long dry
spells. If I get an idea next week, I’ll do something. If not, I won’t
do a damn thing.
Harry, stock market went up Friday, down slightly so far today. No panic over the way over-hyped sequester. Economics versus politics? Truly only a minor 2+% reduction in this year’s disgustingly bloated budget and still allowing even greater spending than last year. Best solution: stop salaries and expense payments to all White House and Congressional folks included those elected, even our vacant “leader”.
Once intelligently resolved – budget cuts, loop holes eliminated, etc – allow those salaries to resume, but NOT retroactively. Today the politicians and their supporters and employees have no personal motivation to fix this problem except as it allows them to get re-elected and run the Republicans out of town in 2014. Me, I’d run them all out of town.
