A happy wife. An unhappy stockmarket.

Been there. Done that.

I don’t like drops like yesterday’s 1.86% drop.

YestrerdaySDrop

But we had other big drops in 2014 and we recovered.

I figured yesterday’s big drop was due to four happenings:

  1. Oil. Now under $50.
  2. Euro. Now under $1.20.
  3. Fears of deflation in Europe (which increases the risk of bond defaults)
  4. Grexit. Greece leaving the Euro.

As my trader friend said, “Driven more by fear, than actual fact.”

None of these are going to bring down the world’s economy. Stay invested.

Don’t buy oil stocks, though they’re “cheap.” Stay away from companies with heavy involvement in Europe.

My 30-year treasuries are up from $105.404 to $108.156, as interest rates have continued to fall. I wrote about buying long bonds a few days ago. The 30-year treasury is still yielding 2.53% which means it’s still a good buy. It’s yielding far better, for example, than Germany’s 30-year bund, which is at a miserable 1.30%. If you were a German and saw what was happening to the Euro (now down to $1.19), and saw the yield on the U.S. treasuries, where would you put your money?

A happy wife is a happy life.

Step one. Buy her a Handsgrohe Clubmaster shower head:

Before installing, remove these little flow restrictors:

She’ll then have the best shower in the entire world. You can buy the shower head on Amazon — click here — but check the prices. They list sources much cheaper than themselves.

Second wife-pleaser:

Assign a different ringtone in your iPhone to your spouse. This way, you’ll know if she’s calling. And you can get read for your Honey-Do List.

Select her name in Contacts, hit Edit (on the top right), scroll down to Ringtone, tap Ringtone. Choose the tone you want to hear when she calls. This helps you know who’s calling without looking at the iPhone display.

Dumb, but fun

OldFoks

I  pointed to two old drunks across the bar from us and told my friend Bob, “That’ll be us in ten years.”

He turned to me and said, “That’s a mirror, you dumb sh*t.”

Yet another bar joke

A man walked into a crowded bar, waving his model 1911 Colt .45 caliber pistol with an 8 shot clip, and yelled, “Who in here has been screwing my wife?”

A voice from the back of the bar yelled back “You’ll need more ammo.”

Harry Newton who’s not at CES — it’s too much of a zoo. Harry figures he can see what’s new at CES on sites like engadget and techcrunch as well as BubbleVision, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

Mophie has finally announced juice packs for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. They protect and give 120% more battery. I have one for my iPhone 5 and love it. For pre-ordering for the 6, click here.

If you want a “real” shower experience check out this $400. Thermostatic Shower Panel…we have similar units in both our showers and we really love them…in use 5 years no problems. Simple installation in existing shower. Ours are from Italy…more expensive units available, probably not necessary. We have 100 pound water pressure so the body jets really give you a body massage. I am sure the Clubmaster shower head could be added if you still wanted it.

The Handsgrohe Clubmaster is by far the best shower head….I think the American economy is still very strong so when we get these little bumps caused by oil, Euro etc. it makes for a good time to pick up more shares on the drops. Until you start seeing corporate earnings underperform or housing market tanking is the time to start taking money out IMO.
