Volkswagen is proving itself the classic cockroach Stock. Now the EPA has found the cheating software on about 10,000 VW Audi and Porsche models not previously disclosed by VW. The cockroaches keep coming out of the walls.

The reason organic is more expensive is that it doesn’t have as many pesticides in the growing of the tomatoes. It also doesn’t have high fructose corn syrup which is grown with tons of pesticides and herbicides. Check out this Swedish study. I can’t believe smart people feed that crap(conventional agriculture) to their kids and grand kids. It sucks going to parents and friends houses and either getting poisoned or being rude.

I agree. Some of us are too busy, distracted, focused on other things, etc., to notice what’s happened:
Food used to be a simple expression of the earth’s bounty- wholesome, natural, and nutritious.
All you had to do was grow, hunt, or gather it.
Fast forward to today and we are at the tail end of a couple hundred years of the “evolution” of food by agribusiness, where most foods are anything but natural.
The irony is that those of us who are paying attention to what’s happened and increasingly pushing back the tide of “progress” are accused of being elite, or worse, by those who have not been paying attention.
Denial.
The attitude is, “why should I have to buy something special and more expensive.. regular food should be fine- it always has been, right?”
And yes, in a perfect, just world that should be true, but we live in a world that includes predators, sociopaths, exploiters, so it behooves us to open our eyes and ears and pay attention.

well put. good summary. Only thing I would like to add is that courts requiring the quest for profits over every other consideration has enabled the predators, sociopaths, exploiters, and the corporate greed machine. Nothing is cheap for free. It’s just a matter of who pays and when.
