A super-lucky fellow. Especially in volatile times.

We live in volatile times.  One day up. The next day down. The hardest part of investing is buying on a down day. But that’s when you should be buying. You shoul do buy on an up day.

Stocks to buy today include INTU, SHOP, AMZN, NEWR, CRM  and NVDA.

My friend and super investor, Ed Sonderling:

First, he creates the crisis, then escalates it, then takes it to the brink, then “solves” it with minor concessions he gets, then acts as if he’s the savior of the world. This “strategy” worked with North Korea, where we got three hostages back. And it will work with trade wars which will be “solved” some time near the November mid-term elections.”

Today, I received this from “Western Union”

Do I look like a complete fool?

I’m a super-lucky fellow part 2

I get pitched super investments for shiny new things. Here are projections I got last night:

Here are some of the 457 reasons I’m wary.

+ There’s no explanation of the magic technology, and certainly no demonstration of it.

+ I’m at the bottom of the food chain. If they’re forced to pitch me, they must be desperate. Or worse.

+ From zero to $350 million in sales in five years.

But the best part are the words…

ABC Company has a technology that the Tech industry doesn’t just want; they need. …

Interest is VERY hot and the shares are moving really fast.

For that reason it is our very strong recommendation that you read the pertinent info immediately. You’re only looking at about a half an hour’s reading.

I don’t make this stuff up. It’s what happens when the economy gets very hot, as it is now.

Don’t do stupid

+ A 55 year old friend walks into his bedroom in the dark, gets tangled in the comforter hanging off his bed and down he goes. It took him five hours to get to his phone to call the ambulance. They took him right into surgery. He’d broken his right hip.

+ I watched a bicyclist get hit by a car running a red light. Someone always runs a red light. I take Rosie out at night and watch cars run the red light outside our apartment — every light change. Lately, I’ve never seen them all stop when they should. Never, ever. It’s frigging scary.

+ Please hold the hand-rail going down (or up) stairs.

+ Intel CEO Brian Krzanich did wonders for Intel’s stock price. But he was just forced to resign after someone in Intel discovered he had a “past consensual relationship” with an employee. And that relationship violated Intel’s ridiculous rules. Another company has a rule you’re not allowed to star at someone for more than five seconds. They cite a study that found that staring at someone for more than 3.3 seconds makes  them feel creepy. For God’s sake, never compliment anyone on anything, including the color of their shoes.

Harry Newton, whose tech stocks are down today. Good buying opportunity. After that, go play tennis. Yesterday I did three down-the-line backhands. They were things of beauty. Have a great weekend. FaceTime with the kids and grandkids. Reading grandkids books over FaceTime is the next best thing to being there!
