Don’t fight the fed. Don’t own anything. Don’t buy anything. Sell short. Buy treasuries.

Accept that the world has changed.

Earnings do matter. P/E s do matter. A little.

But what really matters is sentiment.

Right now sentiment is awful for stocks. Don’t fight the Fed.

The world is rife with rumors. Apple has a hiring freeze. Microsoft is firing people. Disney’s Shanghai park is closed forever because of Xi’s insane Covid ideas. Inflation isn’t easing — certainly not fast enough. No one is buying PCs any more. And Putin is going to drop a nuke.

You have choices.

+ You can earn 4.80% on a one year treasury. You can earn 4.74% on a two year. That’s a lot better than losing money in the stockmarket. In fact, it’s the best way to “put your money to work” today.

+ Go short. The easiest short is VGT — a put on tech stocks.

+ Find a business you understand and embrace it. A local apartment building. Especially one that’s over-leveraged and the  bank now has it and wants to dump it because the previous couldn’t make payments.

+ Play tennis. Do something fun in the great outdoors. It’s 60 degrees, blue skies, no wind and gorgeous trees where I am:

For God’s sake, do not try and catch a falling knife.

Know that everything you read and everything you see on BubbleVision is designed to sell ads. You can sell ads by being negative, i.e. recommending doing nothing or shorting.

And little of it makes sense. Tesla sports a P/E of 66. It’s up today. Amazon sports a P/E of 85. It’s down today. Go figure.

Time for a nice cruise

This thing is billed as “The World’s Only Luxury Icebreaker.

They’re taking bookings for cruises to places you’ve never visited (and probably never want to ).

Notice the stairs. You can walk on the North Pole. I don’t make this stuff up. I couldn’t.

Where did you catch covid? At the north pole. You’re kidding me? No. It was gorgeous! Last place on our Bucket List.

Don’t hit a deer

Our neighbors hit one in their Tesla.

They did $19,000 damage. Their Tesla now lives in the repair shop, for shortage of spare parts. It’s been there a month.

The deer survived. They knocked on a door of a nearby house and asked if they had a gun?

The neighbor said Yes. He produced an AR-15 assault rifle, put it into single shot mode and did away with the ailing deer.

They made a mental note to never argue with that fellow.

No one volunteered to prepare bambi-burgers that night.

The best hearing aid I’ve ever worn

Everything about this hearing aid is wonderful. They’re comfortable. They amplify just right. Not too loud. Not too soft. They have great customer service. I have spoken to them twice. They have great instruction manuals.

You can use them listening to TV. On the phone.

For the first time. I’m comfortable wearing hearing aids all day.

These are better than the many-thousands-of-dollars hearing aids I have in my special junk drawer.

Buy them here.

I love this

A warning

This is popping up every day on my Windows 10 laptop:

It will pop up on yours soon too. Do not hit the Download and install button. You do not want this horrible operating system. I tried it. I hated the new interface. Couldn’t figure it out But, worse, several of my favorite software programs — the ones I use every day — didn’t work on it.

If you buy a new laptop or PC and it comes with Windows 11, know that you can easily downgrade to Windows 10.  I’ve done it twice with two new Lenovo ThinkPad machines.

Why do I like this?

These used to be some of my favorite stocks

One day they will again be among my favorite stocks — but not now.

See you soon. — Harry Newton
