There are now 67 stocks in my portfolio. This is an insane number. A handful are “core,” i.e. large holdings. Most are small holdings. My dumb idea to follow them, to study what they do, to dump the ones that don’t seem to be working and buy more of those that do seem to be working. To a large degree, this recognizes the reality of today’s stock market, which is driven not by rational, traditional measurements of Price/Earnings ratio, (i.e. value), but by AI momentum pure and simple. I own 46 stocks with a P/E of over 20. My highest P/E is PLTR at 673.
The ten stocks which I’m achieving my highest percentage gains under my new “active management strategy” are OKLO, AVGO (Broadcom), JOBY, GE Vernova, INVZ, VST, TSM, COIN, PLTR, and RBLX. Nvidia is 13th on list. Still up magnificently in dollars.
I don’t recommend my latest “investment” strategy to anyone who isn’t obsessed with ‘getting it right” and also who has the time to get it right. (If ever.) Still, those ten stocks, plus NVDA, NFLX, MSFT, AMZN, AAPL and GOOGL make a handsome portfolio.
Gold the metal or gold the miner?
On the chart below, the brown line is Barrick Mining (B). Barrick has 1.92% dividend yield. Gold pays nothing. I’m switching to Barrick.

More tips
+ Improved software rarely is. Fidelity has upgraded its beautiful Active Trader Pro to Active Trader Pro Beta, which is awful. Windows 11 is definitely not an improvement over Windows 10. I can give you a dozen examples. In fact, I’ve officially given up on Windows 11. It’s bloated, slow and constantly trying to sell me something. Further it won’t run some of my favorite older programs. If you buy a laptop with dedicated CoPilot button, you can program the button to something useful – like Delete. You can also completely delete CoPilot. Pexplexity and ChatGPT are much better. YouTube has useful videos. Sadly, there is much software that comes with Windows 11 that you can’t get rid of — e.g. Magnifier.
+ You’re overpaying for cell service. You can get unlimited cell service these days for $30 month. Ask your cell carrier to reduce its price. Otherwise try Mint Mobile, a subsidiary of T-Mobile. Mint is a perfectly fine carrier and is much better with satellite service. Mint Mobile has a customer service department with real people you can talk to. Verizon, are you listening?
+ We eat too much, and too much of the wrong things. Diet is the key culprit in our current [obesity] epidemic,” said Barry Popkin, a professor at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an obesity expert. For more, click here.

+ If you’re ancient (like me) You need refundable airline tickets and air rescue insurance (or whatever it’s called).
+ I hate polyester anything. On me it’s hot. I like 100% Supima cotton, Thank you Lands Ends.
+ If you’re over 60, you need an Apple Watch. It will save your life. It will call when you fall. Buy a Series 9 from Apple. Make sure it has cell service.
+ Before you buy anything from Amazon, check you didn’t order two accidentally.
+ Do not buy built-in motorized blinds. They break. Moreover, the motor for your blinds have been manufacturer discontinued. And it takes a carpenter and crew to open up the space your builder so neatly hide your blinds electric mechanism (now busted) into.
+ Google’s Chrome is the best browser – for many reasons. But I especially love how it remembers my passwords and fills in forms. It’s AI is getting better by the day. Better yet, it has an extension called Session Buddy which lets me flip between all the tabs I have open — presently 358.
+ Your air conditioning units need new, clean filters and their outside condensers washed. Your refrigerators also need cleaning.
+ Live near a golf course? Beware of pesticides in your drinking water. From Men’s Health magazine , click here.
+ Charge your iPhone with a wire, not wirelessly. Wired is much faster. If you need extra oomph on the road, there are a zillion extra portable packs at Amazon.

The most useful thing I’ve ever learned
There’s always a way. It just takes time to figure it.
But the second time you do it, it’s much faster.
