Apple bounced back.I have no idea why it went down or why it bounced back. Fortunately I held onto 90% of my shares. Apple reports its earnings next week. They should be good.

What Harvard and Yale earn on their money. These are for the year to June 30.
After losing its shirt in FY09 , it has come back. The key number to my mind is the 5.5% five year growth, reflecting today’s diminished expectations.
Unlike Yale, Harvard doesn’t talk much about what it’s in and how each sector performs.
Harvard’s investments rose in all categories during the fiscal year. Returns on hedge funds, real assets such as commodities, and fixed-income assets beat internal benchmarks, while gains by private equity, real estate and public stocks fell short of targets, the report shows.
Harvard Management, which is based in Boston, measures its performance against a theoretical “policy portfolio” that it says reflects the most appropriate mix of assets for the university. The endowment beat the 20 percent gain by the benchmark in the past year, as well as the 19.5 percent increase of a hypothetical portfolio of 60 percent stocks and 40 percent bonds. Harvard’s fund returned 5.5 percent, 9.4 percent and 13 percent in the past 5, 10 and 20 years, topping the policy portfolio, the report said.

How to get to Heaven
I was testing children in my Dublin Sunday School class to see if they understood the concept of getting to heaven.
I asked them, ‘If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale and gave all my money to the church, would that get me into heaven?’
‘NO!’ the children answered.
‘If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the lawn, and kept everything tidy, would that get me into heaven?’
Again, the answer was ‘NO!’
By now I was starting to smile. ‘Well, then, if I was kind to animals and gave sweets to all the children, and loved my husband, would that get me into heaven?
Again, they all answered ‘NO!’.
I was just bursting with pride for them. I continued, ‘Then how can I get into heaven?’
A six year-old boy shouted out: “YUV GOTTA BE FOOKN’ DEAD….”
Harry Newton who added KO to his recommended list. He’s still short Radio Shack, which fortunately keeps falling. That business is doomed.
