Things I learned yesterday:
+ Good idea to spend at least 20 minutes on each stock I own at least once a week.
+ If you don’t own 51% of it, you’re gambling. Hence you shouldn’t own much of it.
+ You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink. In simple English, that means few listen.
+ If they give you a reasoned explanation of why you’re full of dog doodoo, embrace them. They’re listening.
+ Cramer says the stockmarket is going up because Europe is coming back. It’s as good as explanation as any.
+ There are huge areas to stay away from, including the erstwhile high-yielding mortgage REITs. AGNC last night reported a huge loss. I’m not big on big banks because too many look like cockroach stocks, viz. JPMorgan Chase’s latest troubles. But I’ve been consistently wrong with big banks.
+ It’s hard to sit in front of four screens when the weather outside is so perfect.

Harry Newton who warns you — Never, ever, buy a used computer. You never know what the moron did. It was probably lethal. Hence, his reason for selling it to you.
I’m leaving this morning for our country palace. I had wanted to to attend Buffett’s annual meeting this weekend. But I’ll watch it on the Internet.
One of the biggest secrets of success, particularly innovative disruptive start-ups, is LISTENING. Too few do it: most fail based on my experience and extensive successful record, one a HBS study.
