Tracking your movements and your body’s vital signs. You’ll live longer and healthier if you track your body’s vital signs. Your doctors will help you more when they have your stats. At least that’s the theory . There’ll soon be zillions devices to help you. For now the best device, according to Jim McDonald of the tech blog, The Wirecutter is the $130 Garmin Vivofit. McDonald singles out the Vivofit as the best all-around, commercially available fitness tracker. With pinpoint accuracy, it records your steps, calories, distance, and sleep and never has to leave your arm because the batteries last for a full year.
You can read more on this field of tracking your body in a totally engrossing piece called Tracking Max Levchin, who co-founded PayPal, became the first backer of Yelp in 2004 and sits on the Yahoo board. For the Men’s Fitness interview with Levchin, click here.

Harry Newton who notes that yesterday’s “brochure” from a Chinese hotel is probably fake. But, who cares? It was funny and didn’t hurt anyone. If you missed it, it’s here.

Trust me Harry…..In my many years of traveling in and around China that was one of the better translations I’ve seen.
