They solved Ukraine, but not Greece — yet. But Ukraine is good.
Tesla messed up, selling fewer cars and losing money. “Wall Street” expected a profit.
Most of the high-flying stocks of 2014 are not doing well in 2015. Have to dump them fast when they you’ve made a few shekels and they’re attracting bad P.R., e.g. TSLA and GPRO.
I bought ZTS a while back, but forgot to add it to the list on right. It’s now there. For a simple reason. We went shopping for pet stuff for Rosie. That business is booming. The prices are out of this world. What people will pay for their pooches is simply amazing.
I added GM to my list on the right. We rented a GM car from Budget (through Priceline). It is remarkably good. Totally unlike the garbage GM used to make. I also like stocks that hedge fund activists are getting involved with. Look what happened with Icahn took after Apple. I’ll write more about activism tomorrow. It’s the latest fashion. And effective, so far.
They opened a new Whole Foods in Palm Desert. I love shopping there. So does everyone else, it seems. I played WFM right by buying it when it was low in October — at $38.50. The lesson here is simple: buy good stocks when something short-term bad happens to their stock price.
Thank you Apple, for ascending to new highs. Thank you Carl Icahn, again. Why didn’t we all bet the farm on Apple?
Australia is on sale. Time to vacation there. The Aussie dollar is 77 cents. I got out at $1.04. It wasn’t that long ago. Australia actually wanted its currency to fall. When commodities like iron ore were flying, Australia’s dollar became much too expensive. No one could export. Tourism was outrageously expensive. At one stage, nice Australian restaurants cost more than pricey New York restaurants. No more. Go visit. Australians like Americans. If you can understand how they speak, you’ll have a great time.
Typical Australian. Her name is Emily Scott.
Saturday is St Valentine’s Day. Here are the two most tasteless cards I could find:
Tomorrow is Friday the 13th. I’m sure that means something.
Harry Newton who’s been caught a bunch of tax and other seriously boring stuff, but promises to be back tomorrow with better stuff. I really think IBM is ripe for shorting. Even at these lower prices. But this is not a long-term play. Take the profit when you get it.

I too got a great deal for a Budget Chevy full size through Priceline $305. for 8 days. When i picked it up they offered me a Caddy for $12. per day extra…it has great GPS, voice activated but the cruise control does not work, seats are hard and poor visibility…I much prefer my Lexus left at home. GPS for the Chevy would have been $19. per day.
Amazing Apple, glad you were in on that. Harry you hit WFM out of the park. I thought 36 was a good price to short it. Who would pay those insane food prices said I…lol
This is now a wealthy society. People truly believe that something is worth what they pay for it. Hence, Apple, Mercedes, Whole Foods, Tiffanys, Nike, etc.
So, you may like ZTS as a stock, but never let a vet treat your dog or cat with their lethal drug, Convenia. It is an antibiotic too strong, kills ALL bacteria. PFE dumped it after so many deaths reported in first Europe and then the USA. I lost my precious min. poodle rescue mix to it. ZTS takes no responsibiity unless, maybe, the owner had a necropsy done. I hate these people, I hate their stock.
