Covid vaccinne makers do well. Elon pulls another rabbit out. Great travel tips.

I don’t like biotech because I don’t understand it. But I can’t deny my fluke success with Moderna, maker of a covid-19 vaccine (the one I have). Here’s the last year of MRNA:

Last week’s recommendation was Novovax (NVAX), another covid-19 vaccine maker that just got approved down under (Australia).

NVAX is up and down. I doubt you’ll get it cheaper than where it is now.

ASND (Ascendis Pharma) in interesting as a spec, now it’s cheaper.  I didn’t include a chart because it’s been dropping.

I also like AVXL (Anavex Life Sciences), which I’ve recommended before. I’m doing well with it.

Chaulk this up to “The World Is Getting Better”

Elon Musk’s SpaceX’s Starlink satellite is becoming viable Internet service. The existng satellite Internet services — including Hughes and Viasat — are miserable. All my friends, who are forced to use them, complain.  Musk’s service came in at 97.3 mbps — at least four times as fast as its competitors. The man keeps impressing. See more here.

Travel tips

+ Suntan cream expires after three years. Get new stuff.

+ Everyone who has a pair of these swimming headphones swears they’ve changed their life. My friends swim listening to a podcast or a symphony. They say they can now swim twice as far.

They’re called Xtrainerz open-ear mp3 swimming headphones. They don’t fit in the ear. They work by bone induction. I tried them. They’re great. If you exercise by swimming, buy a pair. $150. Click here.

+ Put a “This belongs to…” label on all your iPads, iPhones, laptops, etc. People leave their stuff at TSA checkins. Computerworld reports (this will blow you away):

Close to 10,278 laptops are reported lost every week at 36 of the largest U.S. airports, and 65% of those laptops are not reclaimed, the survey said. Around 2,000 laptops are recorded lost at the midsize airports, and 69% are not reclaimed.

+ This is one of those ultra-light poly shirts that have 50 sun protection and long sleeves. What’s brilliant about this is its hoodie.

Saves the back of your neck. $22. Click here.

This man in certifiable

Fox News host Tucker Carlson urged his viewers to resist vaccine mandates if they are imposed by their employers as he questioned such rules being set at workplaces across the United States. Carlson told his audience on Friday they should “threaten to sue” if their employer tries to require them to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Companies mandating vaccinations for their employees include Walmart, Walt Disney, United Airlines, Google, Facebook, Uber.

The booming cloud storage biz

You can soon rent Paul Allen’s 414 foot “superyacht”

He sold it to a mystery buyer. It was listed for $278 million. It has 13 guest suites, 2 submarines, a heliport and a a garage for a helicopter and a pool that turns into a dancefloor, inter alia. But no tennis court. Useless! This video gives extravagance a whole new meaning.

A far better investment is a water slide for the kids

When the local idiot wouldn’t rent me a water slide for less than $1,000, I bought one for $850 from Amazon. And the result? The best investment I ever made for the kids. Here’s Saturday:

Priceless

Tennis this morning

Perfect. 68 degrees. Shade. A valley setting. A tennis court shared with the chipmunks, squirrels and deer.

And my one perfect down-the-line backhand.

Going off with son Michael to Idaho tomorrow on a rafting trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.

Go to Oars.com and watch some of the videos. Neat stuff. Think of going white-water rafting there instead of schlepping around Delta covid infested Paris or London.

If I don’t drown, get burned up or get eaten by a bear, you might hear from me again. Our big gainers today are MRNA, NVAX, ROKU, NET, TSLA, and SQ. Made enough (on paper so far today) to pay for the trip.– Harry Newton
