The new AI is aggressively being adopted by every corporation and its uncle. We’re seeing glimmerings in Chrome and Bing and at Amazon and Apple. There’s still huge opportunities. I’ll have a big report in my next blog.

How not to run your public affairs
There’s an important investing point here. Sometimes we deal with a company and find our dealings to be unsatisfactory. This is not my first bad time with Microsoft, which is so big (and arrogant) it ignores reporters, like me.
Yet, it’s made a good investment.
Lesson: Don’t let your lousy dealings obscure a good investment.
How capitalism works
I’m 81. If I buy one pair of neat shoes and one pair of pants each year, I’ll have at least 120 items of stuff I don’t wear any longer.
Now the problem now is find enough boxes to pack them up and give them to local charity.
The only way to get more boxes is to buy more clothes from Amazon and more shoes from Zappos.
Amazon is 19% cheaper than Apple
Amazon charges $79.98. Apple charges $99.
Go figure.
I got sneaked
Microsoft sneaked Windows 11 onto one of my laptops and already some of my favorite software no longer works!
I don’t know how they managed that coup. But I’m seriously annoyed.
Good news: my favorite Classic Shell software which works on Windows 10, but not 11, has been replaced by Open Shell which works on Windows 11.
Going overseas — best tips
+ Take noise cancelling earbuds. They let you sleep on a plane. Amazon has cheap ones (under $30) and pricey ones (over $300). I’d start with the cheap ones.
+ You must get Global Entry. Can save hours of standing in America immigration lines.
+ Don’t ever lift your bag into the overhead container. You will hurt your back and ruin your vacation. Get a nice handsome, young passenger and do it. Tell him how much you admire his muscles.
+ You don’t need cash in Europe, except for tips.
+ Put an AirTag in each piece of your luggage — whether you check it or not. I once had an bag stolen from the overhead compartment above my seat.
+ Travel insurance can be remarkably cheap — depending on whom you buy it from.
+ An airport is not the best place to buy a SIM card.
A perfect diet? This is really boring:
The case has never been clearer: Eat less bacon and more beans.
An analysis published Wednesday in the journal BMC Medicine, drawing on data from 37 studies, adds to the evidence that eating fewer animal-based foods — especially processed meats — and replacing them with whole grains, legumes and nuts is linked to a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes.
The study is particularly useful because it details which dietary changes are most strongly linked to better health, said Qi Sun, an associate professor of nutrition and epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, who was not involved with the study. For example, the study estimated that replacing one serving per day of processed meats, like hot dogs, sausage, deli meats or bacon, with a serving of whole grains, nuts or beans was associated with a 23 to 36 percent lower risk of cardiovascular issues, including stroke, heart attack and coronary heart disease.
