Should I buy Nvidia now? And Tesla?

Is it too late to buy Nvidia?

That’s the question I get asked most often.

Last night its market cap was $3.6 trillion — making it the most valuable company in the world., exceeding Apple’s $3.4 trillion.

Nvidia will report its latest earnings next Wednesday evening, November 20.

There is no reason to believe that Nvidia’s earnings will be anything but blow-out and its stock will rise even higher.

Hence, I believe it’s not too late to buy Nvidia stock.

I have reported on technology companies since August 1969 when I graduated from business school and got a job as the managing editor of a publication called The Knowledge Industry Report. Our job was to report on new technology and the companies that created it.

Hence, I’ve spent 55 years reporting on new technology companies. In that time I have never — and I repeat never — ever seen anything like Nvidia. Never have I seen a founder and CEO as impressive as  Jensen Huang. And I’ve met a lot of them.

Nvidia is my largest holding. I’m looking to make it even larger — before next Wednesday.

Trump stuff

+ Probably not a good to sell stuff at a profit now. Next year taxes should be lower.

+ Elon will be in charge of a new Federal agency (?) designed to eliminate old Federal agencies. Here’s his promise:

Second promise: If your or your kids work at a Federal agencies — there are 450 or so of them — you probably should be looking for another job. Elon is ruthless about firing people — e.g. what he did at Twitter.

Here’s an interview with Bill Maher, an Elon fan.

Here is a chart of Nvidia and Tesla over the last year.

I would not buy Tesla at its present price. It doesn’t have anywhere near the earnings or growth of a Nvidia.
