Tomorrow, Microsoft drops its “support” of Windows 10, its most popular operating system ever.
Hence you must update all your Windows 10 machines today — laptops and desktops. It’s free. Do it today.
Do NOT accept Microsoft’s invitation to load your machine up with Windows 11.
Windows 11 is a money-suck scheme by Microsoft to suck money out of your pocket — meanwhile while not allowing you to run some of your favorite softwares. You can buy news ones from Microsoft. Trust me on this one. I’ve spent too many boring hours researching this. At one stage I was ffrightened by Microsoft’s threats to drop my support. No more.
My Windows 10 machines will run forever — or at least until Microsoft convinces me on Windows 12.
Meantime, my Windows IT experts tell me that if I’m concerned about computer nasties, I should load up on malwarebytes. It’s cheap and they love it.
Three gadgets your house must have

Second, every boiler should have a surger arrestor. So you house doesn’t lose power and then lose heat and then all your pipes will burst. This one wil probably work. Click here. But my research is not complete. We have one behind our boiler — but I can’t switch it back on remotely. I’m looking for one that I can.
Third, every house needs a whole house Generac, backup generator. Generac is good. Ours is still going strong after 20 years, or so. Make sure you maintain it. Once a year, it needs new sparkplugs, its oil changed and tuneup, etc. It’s a car engine pretending its a backup generator.
Trump made his cronies rich again
He tanked the market on Friday with China threats. Then he waxed happy over the weekend.
Today’s market is up big-time, as I predicted in Friday’s blog.
Fraudulent emails
I owe Best Buy and Nortons (and other) hundreds of dollars for things I didn’t buy and don’t want.
Publishers Clearing House is convinced I’ve won their lottery.
If I give this unknown company $5,000, they’ll give me $500,000.
People are still falling for this scam nonsense.
Key: Check the email from whence it came. If it isn’t from the company, it’s a scam. Don’t open attachments. Delete is the most valuable key on your machine.
The AI boom continues
Thee are two schools of thought: There’s huge, continuing demand. There isn’t. Andrew Ross Sorkin got on 60 Minutes to promote his new book 1929 and the idea of an imminent stockmarket bust like 1929. I haven’t read his book yet. It’s probably good. But much better is Dan Brown’s new book:
Now to the AI boom. Do me a favor: Ask all your friends which are they using — Perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude, Crok, Sora or Cursor, etc.?
Then ask them how many are paying $20 a month to get the Pro version? (I pay Perplexity $20 a month.).
You’ll be surprised with their answers.
By the way, Perplexity told me:
